We had a busy day today, starting with service in the morning. It was a good time, and one of my favorite moments was AJ at a driveway, standing and listening to his service partner, an adorable 12 year-old little brother, trying to reason with a very passionate gentleman. As me and my friend Mimi are approaching them, so is a delightful little (AJ says sizable) rooster. Maybe you had to be there, but it was such a sight to see this fluffy white bird clucking its way to AJ; knowing that he´s trying to stand there and look like he knows Spanish (and also that he´s very used to having roosters walk down the street that way). So it clucked and pecked its way right up to AJ (I didn´t know that roosters ´sniffed´people), and AJ very deftly did a little dance that got the bird away from his portion of the sidewalk.
After our morning, we got a lot done in the way of obtaining internet service (YAY!), thanks to our translators and friends Ivan and Mimi. We actually have a team of translators at our service, Mark and Becky McCleskey being on that team, as they show us the ropes of Cuenca as well. We are so grateful to Jehovah for our dear friends!
We don´t have our internet yet however, so off we go from the internet cafe...it´s been an hour and a half and that´s $1.20!!
Oh how we wish we could have seen AJ dancing away a rooster!! haha Sounds just like service in Fairview Park...
ReplyDeleteYeah...here comes the rooster...
ReplyDeleteIs it proper "ettiquette" in Ecuador to take your laptop out and pick up the nearest unsecured wi-fi hotspot until your cable guy shows up? It happens plenty in the States--but it also costs more than $1/hour to use someone's computer in an Internet cafe here too! :-)
