We've been enjoying the invitation campaign with Narancay as we get ready for the District Convention next weekend. AJ and I have simple introductions (naturally) that no one has been able to refuse. ;o) We say "Tengo una invitacion para un asamblea muy importante. Esperamos que pueda assistir" (translation: "I have an invitation for a very important assembly. We hope that you can attend"). Sometimes we tweak it a little if we're feeling confident; perhaps mention the dates or the location...
Tomorrow is the cleaning of the stadium for the convention at 9:00 a.m. Afterwards, Miha organized a volleyball game for a group from our hall. I think I may serve as the game photographer. Aside from that, our plans for the week include getting a good start to the new service year, and finishing up the invitation campaign! Let's hope my stomach holds up, as I've been having some issues as of late. :-P
A scary event from yesterday: earthquake! AJ didn't feel anything, but Miha and I were in separate rooms when we both felt the shaking. At first I thought, "That's strange, there are no trains nearby," but then I got a little nervous thinking the shaking may get worse. Miha was in the living room sitting on a trembling couch, thinking AJ was playing a joke. But the glasses clinking in our bar were a giveaway that we were experiencing a terremoto! However, AJ says since they've been doing construction nearby, don't start telling any tall tales ~ what do YOU think?
